18th Symposium on Insect-Plant Relationships, SIP 2024

Sunday 4th to Thursday 8th of August 2024

The Symposium on Insect-Plant Relationships deals with various aspects of insect-plant interactions, extending also to other interaction partners. We expect an international audience of up to 270 people. The conference will start on Sunday with a welcome reception and an evening lecture by Renee M. Borges from Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. Further excellent keynotes will be presented by Rieta Gols, Ximena Cibils-Stewart, Meredith Schuman, Anurag A. Agrawal, Beata Gabrýs, Georg Petschenka, Sharon E. Zytynska and a closing lecture by Robert R. Junker. We will provide sufficient time slots to present your research as an oral presentation or poster. Our sessions will be on

• Environmental Change

• Inorganic versus Organic Plant Defences

• Molecular Mechanisms and Eco-omics

• Spatio-temporal Dynamics

• Vascular Systems

• Sequestration, Pharmacophagy and Addicts

• Crop Plants and Agriculture

Other topics are also very welcome!

The participants will have most meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, together in “Haus Neuland”. The conference dinner will take place downtown Bielefeld on August 7th (make sure to book it via Converia). Accommodation will be in “Haus Neuland” directly or nearby. The conference will end at noon on August 8th.
